Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 June 2026
1. Service provider
These terms govern the mobile value-added services (VAS) offered by Libro East Africa Limited (“Libro”), a company incorporated in Kenya, operating as an authorised Safaricom content partner.
2. Eligibility
Services are available to Safaricom subscribers in Kenya aged 18 and above, or with parental consent. By subscribing you confirm you are authorised to use the mobile number provided.
3. Subscription and billing
- Subscriptions are billed to your Safaricom airtime balance at the rate displayed at the time of subscription (e.g. KES 1.5/day for Skiza Tunes).
- Billing recurs daily, weekly or monthly depending on the product selected.
- You will receive an SMS confirmation when your subscription is activated and when each billing event occurs.
- Insufficient airtime will result in a grace period after which the subscription is automatically suspended.
4. Cancellation / opt-out
You may cancel any subscription at any time by dialling the opt-out code provided in your confirmation SMS, or by contacting us at admin@libroafrica.com. Cancellation takes effect within 24 hours. No partial refunds are given for unused subscription periods.
5. Content standards
All content distributed through the platform (Skiza tunes, SMS, USSD) complies with the Kenya Information and Communications Act and the Communications Authority of Kenya content guidelines. Libro reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards without prior notice.
6. Partner obligations
Content partners who distribute material through Libro must:
- Hold all necessary rights, licences and clearances for submitted content
- Comply with MCSK, PRISK and KECOBO licensing requirements where applicable
- Not submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or in violation of third-party intellectual property rights
7. Intellectual property
The Libro East Africa brand, platform software, and any original content produced by Libro are the exclusive property of Libro East Africa Limited. Partner-supplied content remains the intellectual property of the respective rights holders.
8. Limitation of liability
Libro’s liability is limited to the subscription fees paid in the 30 days preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages. Service availability is subject to Safaricom network conditions, which are outside our control.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes shall be resolved by the courts of Nairobi, Kenya, or by arbitration under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration rules if both parties agree.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via SMS to active subscribers and posted on this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
